How CEREC Restores Your Smile Quickly

Need a dental crown or other dental restoration? Get it in just one dental visit.

CEREC SmileCEREC is a special type of dental technology that allows our Milwaukee dentists Dr. Tom Charapata, Dr. Christian Harteau and Dr. Michael Golovin to fix damaged teeth and restore them in just a single dental visit. CEREC allows us to create everything from crowns and onlays/inlays to dental veneers. What you’ll get is a new, improved and stronger smile in just one trip to our office.

How does CEREC technology work?

Before getting your restoration, our Milwaukee general dentists will first need to examine your smile to make sure that you are an ideal candidate for treatment. Once we’ve determined that a CEREC restoration is right for you, we will take images of the tooth using a special dental camera.

These images are immediately uploaded onto our computer, where CEREC’s CAD software will turn these photos of your teeth into 3D images. From there, we will use the software to design a crown, inlay/onlay or veneer that offers the perfect fit based on the measurements we captured from the images.

Once the restoration has been designed it’s time to get to work creating it. We will choose a ceramic block that most closely matches the color of the tooth. This block is then placed into our CEREC milling machine. Within minutes, we will have the completed restoration and we can check the fit before permanently bonding it to your teeth.

What are the benefits of getting a CEREC restoration?

The most obvious benefit is that we can give you back a healthy, strong smile in just a single visit. With traditional crowns, it usually takes up to three appointments to finally get your restoration. With CEREC technology we have cut out all that time spent running back and forth to the dentist’s office. Plus, since you can get your restoration immediately you won’t have to worry about wearing that awkward and often bulky temporary crown or veneer.

We also use the very best materials when it comes to creating your CEREC restoration so that it looks and feels as close to a natural tooth as possible. The ceramic we use is medical-grade, offering similar translucency as natural teeth enamel so the only person who will know that you have a dental crown is you.
