Crowns/Cerec Crowns

Also referred to as a cap, a crown is a protective covering over a tooth that is broken or decayed too much to support a filling. Some patients request crowns for cosmetic purposes when other options for enhancing their smile are not available or appropriate. A crown can also be used to cover dark or misshapen teeth, or to anchor a bridge. In some cases, crowns can also be used to open a patient’s bite or correct alignment of teeth.

At The Dentists South Shore we are one of the few practices in Wisconsin to offer crowns in one visit using a Cerec machine! In most cases, the dentist prepares the tooth for the crown and we take a digital scan of the tooth and margins. This data is used to mill a crown made specifically for you that very same day right in our office!
